League Meeting and Elections

Sunday Funday

Who doesn’t love a Sunday Funday?

Come out to Platform 47 on Sunday, March 10, 2024, and participate in our league meeting. We will be discussion topics from electing board members, the end of season party, and the future of our league. Meeting will begin at 2PM and will be immediately followed by a darts tournament. League meeting is open to all current AACDARTS league members. The tournament afterwards is open to anyone, so invite your friends!

Elections

We have not had elections in many years so we have decided to break the seal and open all positions for elections during this meeting. We have three positions available, all of which current have persons nominated. The Treasurer position is appointed by the current board after elections and will be revealed when confirmed.

  • Director; represent and promote league pillars of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and inclusion while working with our sponsors and darters to provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere for everyone
  • Assistance Director; help coordinate league events like tournaments and the end of season party; also assist building and maintaining positive vendor and partner relationships
  • Secretary; help coordinate social media, email blasts, and league registrations

The board election will be tallied online via ElectionBuddy. Every member will receive an email on Mar 10 at 11:15 AM with a link they can follow to submit their vote. Voting will be available for four hours until 3:15 PM. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER; email will be from AACDARTS with <invitations@mail.electionbuddy.com> as the email address.

Tournament

Our hosts, Platform 47, have offered to support a darts tournament immediately following our league meeting. This tournament will be open to the public and will have a $5 entry fee. Tournament format will be based on the number of participants we have registered.

Additionally, Platform 47 is offering to match our tournament pot up-to $100! If that wasn’t enough to get your dart juices flowing, there will also be drink specials to help get you in the mood for total domination!

Platform 47

Located just one block north of the Damen Brown Line stop, Platform 47 is a neighborhood gastropub welcoming all into their cozy and inviting space. Owned and operated by one of AACDARTS very own, Marcos Martinez and his husband, Jason. Platform 47 is welcoming all darters to enjoy their environment and consider them for sponsoring your team in the future!

Soft Tip Darts Tournament at SCC 2023

Sin City Classic XVI 2023 is in the books! What an incredible tournament organized and executed by Anthony-Paul’s Event Planning hosted by QUADZ Video Bar Las Vegas and supported by Atmosphere Bar Chicago and AAC Dart League. The effort and love put into the event was evident in the camaraderie and enjoyment shared by all participants.

AAC Dart League was represented by John Nino, Michael Pfeifer and Dave Sawyer (team ‘Double Tops’), and Juan Munoz. The league represented — reaching podium in three of four events! Check out a few pics from the shenanigans and start getting ready for next year!

Sin City Classic XVI

The sixteenth Sin City Classic is just two weeks away. More than 8,000 athletes from around the world come together for a weekend filled with competition, social events and fun!

AAC Darts’ very own Juan Munoz and Pauli Cook from team @mosFierce of Atmosphere Bar host the soft-tip darts tournament as part of this fabulous event. This is their third year volunteering to run the tournament for darters from across the United States and the world. Competition consists of a partner and individual match for the 501 and Cricket formats.

We have a few more darters from our league who will be traveling to Las Vegas in a couple weeks to represent Chicago and the AAC Darts League including John Nino, Mike Pfeifer and Dave Sawyer. John Nino is teaming up with former league member, Ryan Whitney, for their second consecutive year playing together in the tournament. Dave and Pfeifer are teaming up as team “Double Tops” to resurrect their failed attempt to partner last year (thanks COVID!).

Tournament dates are Jan 14-15 and is being held at QUADZ Las Vegas. Don’t forget to ask the darters about the tournament when you see them after!
